Book Talk: A New Opportunity

Hello, blog friends!  I have some exciting news! I’ve been contacted by a new blogging website, My Trending Stories, to become a contributer and share my book knowledge! Apparently they feel that my writing suites their all-inclusive vision for their site, and they also think my writing is engaging and attracts viewership! Of course, all these compliments definitely made my day. And I’ve accepted their offer! So, hopefully you’ll be seeing more of me around the blogosphere. 😉 I don’t have many detail yet, but I’ll share them as I get them!  This whole situation also got me thinking about how grateful I am for each … Continue reading Book Talk: A New Opportunity

Tuesday Tidbit: E-Readers

Hello!

Okay, I know it’s not technically Tuesday. But I was thinking about this post yesterday (when it was Tuesday!) and I just didn’t have time to post in then. So, next best thing 😉

I was in Best Buy (which is an electronic store, for those who don’t have them around) because my mom was shopping for a new printer. And since I was not that invested in her printer selection, I decided to browse the store a bit. I did the usually things like listening to all the demo speakers, trying on all the Beats headphones, browsing the CD selection and wondering who still buys CDs, and then I found myself in front of the Kindles. And they were so pretty! I’ve actually been really interested in buying a kindle for awhile now. I just read on my phone Kindle app mostly. I’m always checking Amazon.com and looking at the different types. So, after being at war with myself for 15 minutes and justifying the purchase (it would be so much easier to read outside because no glare, it would save my phone battery, I could read ARCs so much faster!) I decided to buy a Kindle Paperwhite.

Book Talk: Pre-Ordering

Hello!

Okay, so I was all set to do a Tidbit yesterday (it was Tuesday, after all), but I woke up and the Internet wasn’t working! And since we are a generation of techy people, it was a serious bummer 😂 I live out in the country, so the only things around me are fields of grass and cows. Not cell towers. Which means my phone internet is spotty and basically useless. The downside of remote locations! It did eventually get fixed and here I am. 😊 So, no harm done! I actually got a bit of reading in, too.

Since it’s no longer Tuesday, I thought I’d just turn my idea into a book talk, and discuss preordering with you!

Book Talk: My Newest ARC!

Hello!

Okay, so something really awesome happened a few weeks ago. If you follow the author Colleen Hoover on Instagram, you may have seen her post about a giveaway of sorts she was hosting in the month of May. If you were to take a picture with the cover of her new book, It Ends With Us due out August 2nd, and she liked the photo enough that she reposted it, then you would automatically win a signed advanced copy of the book! So, of course I wanted to enter because I love books, especially free ones 😉 But mostly because I’ve heard that It Ends With Us is an amazing read. I’ve seen people already getting tattoos of quotes. And sure, some people are crazy with their tattoos 😂 But still.
So, since I’m bothering to write this post, you might have guessed where this is going. I posted a picture featuring my tattoo quote from The Infernal Devices trilogy by Cassandra Clare, and she liked my tattoo so much, she reposted! 💙 Here is the picture I won with:

Book Talk: Rereading

Good morning! ☕️

Today I wanted to talk a little about rereading books. So grab your tea or coffee and let’s talk books!

I thought it this some this morning while I was rereading sections of Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi. It is book three in the Shatter Me trilogy.

Now, I’ve reread this trilogy twice since I originally read it a couple years ago. And while I was flipping through and finding my favorite romance moments to read again (something I do a lot with books 😂) I was wondering, what makes a book rereadable? Why do we revisit some books like old friends while others sit on the shelf after one read-through? I’m going to share my thoughts with you guys, and I’d love it if you’d share any thoughts you have in the comments! Or just make your own blog post about this topic so I can read it! 😊

What makes a book rereadable?
