Hey guys! 

So, I was planning on posting some reviews soon, but I’ve got a little confession about what’s been holding me. I have Harry Potter fever. And it’s getting Sirius 😉 

So, some backstory: I never read the HP books, and I’ve only seen movies 1-4, and that was way back in the day. I don’t know why I never read HP, really. My mom read the first book to me when I was around 8 years old, but I just wasn’t into it. Then, when I was older and enjoyed reading for myself, there was just so much hype around them! My generation was the first to love Harry and company. It seemed like everyone knew everything about the books and talked about everything from the movies all the time. So, I thought I knew the story. It seemed like I didn’t need to read the books. 

Then, fast forward about 8 years. I’m browsing my newly created book-devoted Instagram account (@FridaysAndBooks) a few months before now. And there I saw the most beautiful covers of Harry Potter ever. The Bloomsbury box set editions. 

  
I found them on Book Depository’s website, on sale of all things. And I couldn’t stop myself from creating reasons to buy them 😂. Mind you, before this exact moment, I hadn’t considered reading HP at all. When I received them (yay, book mail!), they were to beautiful and such amazing quality that I put down whatever book I was reading at the time to start book one. I took a little break at the beginning of the second book, when it was moving a bit slowly. But, once I really got into the story, I finished books 2-4 in no time! So that brings me to know, at the start of book five, The Order of the Phoenix. 

  
I’m loving these books, and feeling so silly for not reading them earlier! However, I wonder if I would have appreciated them this much if I had read them when I was younger. Anyway, the whole point of this post is to say that I’m alive, and reading, but failing to post because I think that so many reviews have been written about Harry Potter, my writing one would be repetitive. Instead I’m just sharing my love, and asking about yours!
