Tuesday Tidbit: Autumn Book Releases

Hello, all!

It’s a beautiful sumner day here. The sun is shining, it was a scorching 85 degrees Fahrenheit, and things that are supposed to be green are turning that lovely shade of “I’m dying from dehydration” brown. If you are a summer person, it’s wonderful. If you’re me (which I am), it’s just not what you want. I’ve mentioned before that I really adore the autumn months. They are perfectly sunny but crisp, the sun isn’t so hot, you can get warm coffee and tea, you can wear a light jacket and boots, plaid everything, American football is back, the leaves are changing, nature is kissing the year goodbye, and it makes me want to bake something with pumpkin in it. It’s just the most wonderful time of the year. 💙

Another thing I love about autumn? New book releases! So, while this post was originally a small pity party for me, because it’s still only July, I decided I’d add in some actual information. So, I looked up some info about the best/most exciting new releases in September and October so we can all stay informed together. 😉

Behold:

Bright Smoke, Cold Fire by Rosamund Hodge.

Expected release: September 27th

This one sounds like a very interesting Romeo and Juliet retelling, with a magical spin!

Heartless by Marissa Meyer

Expected release: November 8th

Holy crap, I am so excited for this book. I adore The Lunar Chronicles  series, and I’m expecting to love this book too.

Crooked Kingdoms (Six of Crows book 2) by Leigh Bardugo

Expected release: September 27th

Okay, so I haven’t actually read Six of Crows yet. But I definitely will before this book is released! I’m excited for it, and if I’m excited, I’m sure some of you are ecstatic.

Empire of Storms (Throne of Glass book 5) by Sarah J. Mass

Expected release: September 6th

Another one we are all excited for? Definitely this book. Sarah is seriously the queen of fantasy. I’m so pumped. And I haven’t even read Queen of Shadows yet. 😂

The Queen of Blood by Sarah Beth  Durst

Expected release: September 20th

This book sounds amazing. In a magical world where everything has a spirit, even the trees, an idealistic student and a young warrior become allies on a thrilling adventure to save their land – before its bathed in blood.

A Shadow Bright and Burning by Jessica Cluess

Expected release: September 20th

This sounds like an amazing fantasy. The first female sorcerer who can burst into flames? Learning from all men who are eager to win her heart and test her talents? I hope she kicks ass. 😉

When the Moon Was Ours by Anna-Marie McLemore

Expected release: October 4th

Two strange and inseparable friends live in a magical world. They may contain some magic themselves. But this book also explores very real subjects such as a transgender boy, friendship, and cultural differences. Not to mention four witches living down the street. I am pumped for this book.

The Iron Cast by Destiny Soria

Expected release: October 11th

Set in 1919 Boston, this book follows two friends who preform magical “illusions” in art for an infamous gangster in the Cast Iron Club. By day, the friends con Boston’s elite. But when a job goes sideways and their boss disappears, they are left to run from the law and uncover secrets on their own.

Frost Like Night (Snow Like Ashes book 3) by Sara Raasch

Expected release: September 20th

While I haven’t actually read Snow like Ashes yet, I know lots of people love the first two books and are so excited for this book. Which makes me excited too. 😉

Gemina (The Illuminae Files book 2) by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman

Expected release: October 18th

Another one I’m embarrassed to say I haven’t read the predecessor to, but I’m still excited for. Illuminae is high on my tbr list.

The Midnight Star (the Young Elites book 3) by Marie Lu

Expected release: October 11th

The conclusion to Marie’s epic trilogy! To be honest, I adored Marie’s Legend series so much, and wanted to marathon them so badly (but I had to wait between books), that I decided to wait until all three of these books were released before I started them. I’m so excited for this book so I can go crazy over it. 😂

And there you have it! Some autumn releases I’m pumped about. Did I include a book your excited for? Do you have a book you’re anticipating that I left out? I’d love to know!

Cheers! ☕️
