Hello!
I was tagged by the lovely Stephanie from @ignitingpages to do the Get to Know Me tag. And since I haven’t shared that much of myself with you guys in my posts, and I always think these are fun to read about other people, I thought I’d give it a whirl!
- Stats
Name: Jordan Brooke
Nicknames: My name isn’t really cohesive with nicknames π But a couple people call me Jordi occasionally (I don’t really like it π). A couple call me JP, which are my initials. And that’s pretty much it.
Birthday: October 31st (which is the holiday Halloween here in the US. Which means I got loads of extra free candy when Trick Or Treating. Too bad I was too shy to go very often).
Star Sign: Scorpio. Although, I personally feel like I don’t fit a lot of the qualities. But maybe everyone thinks that about themselves π
Occupation: I’m a registered nurse at a hospital. I work on the behavioral health unit, which means my patients’ area dealing with mental health issues. It’s a job I kind of fell into by accident, but it’s become my favorite area of nursing. I love my patients and making a difference in their lives! I’m also planning on going back to grad school to become a nursing professor on the side. π
- Appearance
Hair Color: It’s naturally a light brown. But it’s a super boring color with no natural highlights to pretty it up. So I’ve always dyed it. I’ve been a red-head and a brunette but I’m usually a blonde. It’s my default favorite color. Although I’m not sure I have more fun. π
Hair Length: It’s a bit past my shoulders. I’ve had every length too. Pixie cut, asymmetrical style, long down my back, and high-low. For now I’m trying to grow it out.
Eye Color: Green
Best Feature: Someone told me once I have a nice forehead π Thanks? A makeup artist said my lips are a good shape. But I personally like my eyes best.
Braces? I had them for a year when I was 13. Not a great look for me.
Piercings? Just my ears. I got my bottom lobs done when I was 5. I really wanted them even though my mom said it would hurt. I don’t remember it being too horrible. Then I got a second set done on my ears the next year, when I was six. And the piecing chick was new and she got the earring stuck in my ear sideways and had to start over π Luckily I didn’t freak out then either. No other holes in me!
Tattoos? Yes, I have four. A quote on my left forearm that says “we live and breathe words” from the book Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare (guesses who said it?). Another is a small red heart on the side of my left wrist. My cousin got a matching heart in black along with me. And since then it’s become a family thing. Now my mom and three of my other cousins have gotten them! π My most recent tattoo is a mason jar on my right inner forearm that is filled with watercolor trees, mountains, water, and the moon and stars. I got it because I love nature and being outdoors makes me feel at peace. Now I have a little bit of that calm with me everywhere I go. My first tattoo was a watercolor-like flower on the back of my right shoulder. It’s a Camellia flower. I think they are so pretty, even though I’ve never seen one it real life π
Right or left handed? Right. It looks like a 3-year-old attempted a drawing anytime I have to use my left hand for something.
- Firsts
Best Friends: We met when we were both six. We were on the same soccer team. She’s still my best friend even though she is away at college, so I don’t see her much.
Award: I think it was a participation trophy for that same soccer season π
Sport: Soccer again?
Real holiday (we call it a vacation in the states): I think a trip to Disneyland when I was 10. But I was scared of rollercoasters, so I spent most of my time in a pool at the hotel that was shaped like Mickey’s head. My parents really lost money on that trip π
Concert: My parents like country music, so I think it was the singer Shania Twain when I was about three. I don’t remember anything but falling asleep in the car.
- Favorites
Film: Can’t choose.
TV Show: Still can’t choose.
Color: It changes with the day. It’s been yellow or teal lately.
Song: Can’t choose. I love all types of music.
Restaurant: I feel like I’m not cultured enough to answer this question. I like the breadsticks at Olive Garden?
Shop: Places that sell books, of course.
Book: No way I can choose. My favorite genres are sci-if, fantasy, urban fantasy, mysteries, horror, and anything with paranormal themes.
Shoes: I’m not one of those “oh my god, shoes” kinda girls. I like tall boots and Vans sneakers. I hate heals. I’m clumsy and they hurt my feet.
- Currently
Feeling: Sleepy? It’s after midnight.
Career: Working in the nurse thing π But I’d also like to try my hand at writing my own novel or children’s book. And also I’ve always thought opening a coffee shop would be awesome.
Where you want to live: I want to travel the world before I answer that question. But I think I’ll always call The Pacific Northwest in the US my home.
- Do you believe in…?
God? Not really? But if there is something out there bigger than all of us, hello! I believe in kindness to all people as my religion.
Miracles? Forms of them.
Love at first sight? I believe in forms of that too. Attraction and fondness. I think love comes with time.
Ghosts? Sort of? I haven’t had my own “believing” experience, but I can’t say no in the face of so many accounts. I can’t say there isn’t something more to the bodies we are. And maybe sometimes that soul, or whatever you want to call it, sticks around after our bodies are gone.
Aliens? Of course. I think the universe is huge, and it would be so lonely if there was no other life out there. Have they visited us? Doubt it π But who knows?
Soul mates? No. I think you can have different types of relationships and love. And some of them might be more than others. But I don’t think there is only one person out there for you.
Yourself? I’m always working on it.
So there you go! This was actually pretty fun! I won’t tag anyone in particular, but I’d love it if everyone who makes it all the way to the bottom would do this tag so I can learn about them! π
Thanks for reading! Here is a photo of books as a reward:
This is such a great tag! I love your tattoos, they’re all so pretty π I agree about the ghosts thing – so many people say they exist, but it hasn’t been properly proven, so I just don’t know what to think!

Thank you and thank you! π
I totally get what you’re saying about the ghosts! I’m happy to know someone out there feels the same way as I do π
