Tuesday (On Friday) Tidbit

Hey guys! I realized I’ve been a schmuck and I haven’t posted my Tidbit the last two Tuesdays. So, even though it’s Friday, I decided to post anyway, because when Friday rolls around, we can do what we want, right? 😉

So, I’ve been in a horrible reading slump. I think I delayed it a little because right after I finished reading A Court of Mist and Fury (the book responsible for my hangover and slump), I jumped right back into Shadow and Bone, which I’d been in the middle of before I started ACOMAF. So, once I finished that, I couldn’t get into Seige and Storm. I thought maybe I just wasn’t in the right mood, but I can’t really get into any book.

However, I have been excitedly waiting for the release of The Last Star by Rick Yancey. It’s the final book in The 5th Wave trilogy and I’m pumped to see how it ends!

I’m a little nervous about this book, because it’s not very long 😂 That sounds weird, but if you read The Infinite Sea (the second book in this trilogy) then you know there is lots of crazy stuff about to hit the fan and I feel like we need at least 500 pages to wrap it up. But alas, The Last Star is only 338 pages. So fingers crossed it doesn’t have a crappy ending that ruins the whole series for me. 🙈

I’ll keep you guys posted and share a review also, once I finish it! I am liking it so far. Although the POV is changing more than in the other two books, which I’m not sure how I feel about.

On a different note, I’m standing in my kitchen drinking coffee with raspberry flavoring added, and it made my coffee pinkish-red. So I basically feel like a vampire. If I sparkle outside later when I’m mowing the lawn, I’ll let you know. 😉

Cheers! 💙☕️

    1. Yes, I really liked it! I was a little nervous going in since there was so much hype around it, but I wasn’t disappointed! 🙂 Happy you liked it too! Have you started the second book yet?

      1. Feel free to check out my TBR list for this month. Also, I hope you get through your reading slump. I know how that can be. What genres are you into? Maybe I can recommend a couple for you to read, to help you get out of that slump.

      2. That would be great! I love recommendations 🙂 I love mystery, sci fi, paranormal, and horror. But I’ll really read anything. I’ll have to check out your list as well!

      3. I ALWAYS recommend The Bartimaeus Trilogy by Johnathon Stroud. Magic, fantasy, and a bit of history all wrapped up in these three books. I absolutely loved them. Bartimaeus is a demon and he is sarcastic and funny. Who knew a demon could be so likable?
I also recommend The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater. A girl has to tame an ocean horse to run in the races to get money for her family. The races are dangerous and people die. It’s great. I’m sure I’ll reread it once I get my books out of storage.
The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield is great also. Its a work of Fiction with some mystery and intrigue. The plot twist had me floored. Check them out, see if they are any interest to you!

  1. The Last Star was really good, I read it in one sitting. I was afraid going into it as well about the length, but I shouldn’t have been it worked well. I have some mixed feelings about a few things though so I haven’t posted my review yet. That being said I did enjoy it and I was satisfied with the ending.
