Hey guys!

As I may or may not have mentioned, I love discovering lesser-known books in the Amazon Kindle store. While I love a good NY Times best seller as much as the next fangirl, I also love finding a hidden gem by an author who is just starting out and needs a push. Some of my favorite series are mostly unknown, and whenever I recommend them, I always get blank looks. But I’ve also gotten good feedback on them! So, in the spirit of recommendations, because I know we all love those, here are some of the best books/series I have found out there in the book world that deserve a spot on your TBR!

The Angel Burn trilogy by L.A. Weatherly

I was recently talking with my lovely friend Lissa from @rabidreads about how it’s really hard to find a good angel book. Although it’s a bit of an unpopular opinion, I wasn’t a big fan a few really popular angel series (Hush, Hush for example), but this is a really interesting trilogy. The second book, Angel Fire, is the start of a semi-annoying love triangle, which was the only negative shadow I cast on this otherwise really good trilogy! Its not inspiring literature that’ll change your life, but it’s a solid story with a badass heroine, lots of action, a dreamy love interest, and some supernatural fun! The Significance Series by Shelly Crane

This series of four books is one of my favorites. I’ve seriously read it about 8 times. I discovered this series quite awhile ago, like maybe 4 years. Which makes my obsessive reading of it sound less dramatic. 😉 But, that’s beside the point. The point is that this series is perfect for people who want a fluffy romantic type of book, without all the relationship drama and with a little supernatural flare. It’s a really interesting take on soulmates with a magical background. Sometimes it’s so nice to read about a romance where the couple just gets along. They have issues, but they stand together and face them. It’s really satisfying. 😉 Here is the link to the Goodreads page.

The Premonition series by Amy A. Bartol

This book series of five has to die for covers, for one. For two, it’s another really good angel series! This is another one of my absolute favorites. I’ve reread this series a few times too. The fifth and final book was released just last year, and I’ve read it twice 😉 I’ll be honest and say that the final book wasn’t a completely satisfying, but considering all the stuff that was going down, I think it was a happy compromise. And it definitely didn’t taint the rest of the series! I love this series for a few reasons. It’s super humorous, Reed Wellington is boyfriend goals, the whole gang of friends is #squadgoals, and although the main character Evie starts out a bit shaky and whiny, her character development is awesome. She really grows into herself and her role as a leader. Also, this series has seriously one of the best love-to-hate villains I’ve ever read about. He’s suave, mysterious, sexy, and charming, but also evil. But is he really? A bit of a Draco Malfoy, if you will. And don’t worry, no love triangle here. Not really. Just a handful of sexy book boyfriends to choose from. 😉 Here is the Goodreads link.

The Creepy Hallow trilogy by Rachel Morgan

When I read this series, it was only a trilogy. Since then, the author has written three more books set in this universe, but about a different character at a future time. Just wanted to put that out there. 😉 So, when I talk about this series, I’m only talking about the first three books, The Faerie Guardian, The Faerie Prince, and The Faerie War. So, this book series was completely awesome. I read it really quickly, maybe all three books in 5 or 6 days. It’s really fast-paced, a vividly painted faerie world, filled with magic and evil creatures, a tough and inspiring heroine, steamy romance, betrayal, and dimensional travel. Who doesn’t want to read all that? I can’t tell you how awesome it is, and writing this paragraph is really making me want to reread it. Buddy read, anyone? Here is the Goodreads link.

The Existence trilogy by Abbi Glines

And here we have a very interesting spin on a romance novel. A girl who falls in love with death himself. However, in this case, death isn’t a creepy skeleton with a scythe. It’s a super hot and hunky guy who rides a motorcycle and wears a leather jacket. And he breaks code by not claiming the life of a girl who is meant to die. He might have the world’s lamest name (Dank, for reals) but he’s so sexy you stop caring. 😉 Sure, this book trilogy won’t give you a new perspective on life or a string of poetic quotes, but its a fun read! Warning to younger readers though, from what I remember this was more of a New Adult book rather than YA. It gets pretty steamy in the sexual department. Here is the Goodreads link! The first book has some negative reviews, but give it a try anyway. 🙂  It might not be for everyone, but you might be surprised!

The Collector series and The Darkness series by Stacey Marie Brown

Here we have two different series set in the same world, each about some badass women. Both of these series fall into the New Adult category, as there is a fair amount of violence and vivid sexual descriptions. However, it’s all about as tasteful as can be expected for that type of content. I love these books because they are filled with so much fun! Lots of personal drama, magic and action, crazy rescue missions, hot guys, steamy romance scenes, friendships, combat, good conquering evil, evil striking back, and other awesomeness I can’t name at the moment. And best of all, no love triangles in sight! If you are going to read one series first, I’d recommend Darkness of Light (the Darkness series) and the rest of that series, because the events that take place in that story cause the events that start the City of Embers book series (thats the Collector series) issues. Also, there are some characters that make appearances in the Collector books, and I think its more fun to have that knowledge of who they are. It makes their cameos more satisfying.
