Book Talk: My Newest ARC!

Hello!

Okay, so something really awesome happened a few weeks ago. If you follow the author Colleen Hoover on Instagram, you may have seen her post about a giveaway of sorts she was hosting in the month of May. If you were to take a picture with the cover of her new book, It Ends With Us due out August 2nd, and she liked the photo enough that she reposted it, then you would automatically win a signed advanced copy of the book! So, of course I wanted to enter because I love books, especially free ones 😉 But mostly because I’ve heard that It Ends With Us is an amazing read. I’ve seen people already getting tattoos of quotes. And sure, some people are crazy with their tattoos 😂 But still.
So, since I’m bothering to write this post, you might have guessed where this is going. I posted a picture featuring my tattoo quote from The Infernal Devices trilogy by Cassandra Clare, and she liked my tattoo so much, she reposted! 💙 Here is the picture I won with:

Anyway, I’m super happy to say I received my copy in the mail today! And it’s lovely 💙

It’s also signed and personalized, which is also amazing! I’m so thankful to Colleen Hoover for providing this opportunity and sending the book so quickly! I’ve never read one of her books, so I can’t wait! I finished read The Last Star earlier today (review to come tomorrow) so I’ll be starting this book later tonight, hopefully, and I’ll get a review up for you guys so you know whether you’d be interested in getting this book when it’s released.

If you don’t know anything about this book, here is the Goodreads synopsis:

Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up. She graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.

Ryle is assertive, stubborn, and maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant and has a total soft spot for Lily; and the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head, but Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his no dating rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.

As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan, her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

You can check the Goodreads page for more info and some reviews. I’m really excited to get into this book!

Cheers! ☕️

    1. It’s so funny you say that, because I actually thought the same thing after reading the synopsis! And I loved Sweet Home Alabama too! I hope the book is similar so that I can love it. I’m not usually a big contemporary reader myself. Probably why I’ve never read a Colleen Hoover book before. Fingers crossed!

      1. It was such a sweet movie. I don’t ever seem to like contemporary, which I always find weird because I love watching chick flicks. Trying to change that this year. Honestly I haven’t given the genre that much of a chance to impress me, I just write it off as being something I’ll never read.

      2. I’m the same way. I’ll pick up a contemporary novel that sounds cute/has good reviews/because I want to give the genre another try, and after 20 pages I feel bored and I never finish it. My fav genres are sci fi or paranormal or horror or mystery/thriller. So I like some action. Contemporary can seem so pointlessly dramatic. There are a few that I’ve finished and really enjoyed though. Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire, Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon, Smash Into You by Shelly Crane (although that ones not completely mundane contemporary 😉), and The Distance Between Us by Kasie West.

      3. I either get bored that nothing much is happening or I get frustrated that the main characters ‘problems’ are so non existent.
I’ve actually really wanted to try Everything Everything, I’ve heard a few people who don’t really like the genre loved this one. Plus I’m allergic to everything so I can relate 😛
